Carbon Monoxide is an odorless, tasteless, and colorless gas. Without specialized monitoring equipment, the user would be unaware of the presence of harmful Carbon Monoxide. By using the Fortress Respiratory Protector, safety on the job site is enhanced by alerting workers to the presence of dangerous CO levels in the breathing air. A Carbon Monoxide Monitor is a key component of a respiratory program, as required by OSHA 29 CFR 1910.134.

The Fortress Respiratory Protector is a Carbon Monoxide (CO) Monitor with an integrated four-stage filtration system. Stages one and two remove moisture, oil mist and particulates. Stage three removes odors through an activated charcoal bed. Stage four converts Carbon Monoxide to Carbon Dioxide. The built-in CO monitor continuously samples the breathing air for the presence of CO. When levels exceed the filter’s capacity to process CO, and the amount of CO exceeds the established allowable level, audible and visual alarms are activated. When the amount of CO returns to an allowable level, the alarm turns off.

The Fortress Respiratory Protector can process up to 50 CFM of compressed air, supporting multiple breathing respirators.
The optional Remote Strobe Light and Alarm allows you the flexibility to stage the Fortress Respiratory Protector in a protected area, while placing the Remote Strobe Light and Alarm device closer to the workers. By using the Fortress Respiratory Protector, safety on the job site is enhanced by alerting workers to the presence of dangerous CO levels in the breathing air.
